JAMIE K. GERARD, a Member of Nevas, Capasse & Gerard, LLC has been with the firm in Westport for over 30 years. Ms. Gerard assists clients in a wide variety of matters, including both residential and commercial real estate, estate planning, probate and estate administration, landlord –tenant and leasing issues, corporate and business transactions as well as employment and contractual issues.
Ms. Gerard is admitted to the Connecticut bar and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Estates and Probate, and Real Estate Sections of the Connecticut Bar Association and The Fairfield County Bar Association.
Ms. Gerard earned her B.A. magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany in 1977 where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her J.D. from The Washington College of Law at The American University in 1980 where she served as an editor of The American University Law Review.
She is the former President and Board Member of the Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County and a member of the Board of Directors of the Newman’s Own Foundation.
Edward J. Capasse
EDWARD J. CAPASSE, Of Counsel to Nevas, Capasse & Gerard, LLC, joined the firm as a member in 1989, as a result of the merger of two established Westport law firms, Nevas, Nevas and Rubin and Tate, Capasse & Johnson. Mr. Capasse works with clients in the areas of real estate, estate planning and estate and trust administration.
Mr. Capasse is admitted to the Connecticut Bar and served as former Assistant Prosecuting attorney and former President of the Westport Bar Association.
Mr. Capasse earned his B.S. in 1952 from Fairfield University and his LL.B. from Boston College Law School in 1955.
He served as a Member of the Westport Board of Finance, former Trustee and Vice President of the Five Town Foundation, former President of the Westport/Weston Community Council, former Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Westport, and former Trustee of the Westport-Weston YMCA, Inc.
